Today I chose:
Attention · Focus · Available
Every day, I work with three words.
One to see.
One to do.
One to own.
Together, they form my Present set for today.
The conversation lingers in my mind.
My eyebrows draw together.
My breathing is shallow.
I stand in the kitchen and look outside for a moment.
My mind wants to replay the conversation.
What was said.
What I said.
What I might have said differently.
There is the moment.
SEE — Attention
A few sentences keep returning.
As though my mind is holding on to them a little longer.
My shoulders are slightly raised.
I notice I have not quite let go of the conversation.
That is where my attention goes now.
DO — Focus
I look at the street.
A cyclist passes.
A blue car drives slowly by.
My breathing settles a little.
My attention shifts from the conversation to where I am standing now.
OWN — Available
The conversation does not need to be resolved immediately.
It can linger a little longer.
My hands rest on the windowsill.
My shoulders drop a little again.
Simply available for this moment.
I turn and walk back into the room.
No more was needed.
