Present — #03 | The last email

Today I chose:
Open · Let go · Calm

Every day, I work with three words.
One to see.
One to do.
One to own.

Together, they form my Present set for today.

Friday, 16:58.
My laptop is already half closed.

I slide my chair back.
My hand is already on the screen.

Then another email pops in.

A colleague.
“Could you take a quick look at this? Preferably today.”

I feel irritation rising.
My jaw clenches.

My fingers move towards the keyboard.

They pause there for a moment.

There is the moment.

SEE — Open

I straighten my laptop again.

Read the email once more.
More calmly.

DO — Let go

I take my hands off the keyboard.
Lean back.

Then I type one short reply.

OWN — Calm

I press send.

Close my laptop.

My shoulders drop.

The working week had not ended yet.

Now it has.

I chose differently. That was enough.
