About

I use AI a lot.
That is precisely why I do not want to trust it blindly.

I am Bas Michielsen. My work concerns quality, technology and how to make complex things practical and responsible.

Why this place?

The technology is interesting.
What it does to us is even more interesting.

The arrival of generative AI has added a new question for me.

Not only: what can this technology do?
But above all: what does it do to how we think, learn, work and make decisions?

AI Loods is my place to explore that.

I experiment. I build. I read. I write. Sometimes something works surprisingly well. Sometimes an assumption turns out to be wrong.

Both are interesting.

My perspective

Curious and critical.

My background in quality management and regulated environments shapes this. I am used to looking at whether something works, why it works and what we base our judgement on.

What are we actually trying to achieve?

What do we know?

What are we assuming?

And when is it good enough?

I bring the same approach to AI here.

It helps me stay curious without handing over my own judgement, even when certainty is out of reach.

A way of working and looking.

See

What is really happening? First look closely, ask questions and recognise assumptions.

Do

Try, build, test and learn from it. Thinking and talking become useful through practice.

Own

Accept that every question does not need an immediate answer. Give things time, use your own judgement and take responsibility for your choices.

Ultimately, this site may be less about artificial intelligence than it first appears.

It is about human thinking at a time when machines can increasingly think for us.
